DPCC President Anil Kumar hoists flag to mark the Foundation Day of Congress

NEW DELHI—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ch. Anil Kumar hoisted the Congress flag on the occasion of the 138th Foundation Day of the Congress party at the DPCC office, Rajiv Bhawan, here today. Sewa Dal workers sang Vande Mataram and the National song to mark the event. Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress is an ideology which was ingrained in the consciousness of the people, and the finest example of this belief was the massive support received from the people for Shri Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that the Congress party, which was established on December 28, 1885, is the oldest political movement in the world, which fought for the freedom of the country, and marshaled the country to development and progress after gaining Independence.
Besides Ch. Anil Kumar, prominent others present at the flag hoisting ceremony were ex-MP Shri Ramesh Kumar, Chairman of the DPCC Communications Department and ex-MLA Shri Anil Bharadwaj, ex-MLAs Shri Vijay Lochav and Shri Veer Singh Dhingan, Chief Organiser of Sewa Dal Shri Sunil Kumar, District president Shri Adesh /Bhardwaj, District and Block Congress Committee presidents and other senior leaders and workers.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Congress has always fought against injustice and atrocities, and the Bharat Jodo Yatra was to mend fences divided by the BJP on the basis of caste and religion, creating fear and uncertainty among the people. He said that Congress fought for the freedom of the country, with its leaders and workers making unforgettable sacrifices, but people who played no role in the freedom movement and the rebuilding of the nation was now pulling the country backward through divisive politics, without addressing pressing problems like unemployment, inflation, price rise and lives ravaged by economic distress.
Ch. Anil Kumar said that Shri Rahul Gandhi has undertaken the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanyakumari to Jammu and Kashmir to spread the message of love, peace and compassion, and the overwhelming support he received from people of all walks of life throughout the journey showed that people want to live in peace and harmony, but the Modi Government has ruined the lives of the people by mixing religion, faith, language, culture and other issues in the everyday lives of the ordinary people to create tension and uncertainty, and the Bharat Jodo Yatra has united the people divided by the divisive politics of the BJP in the country.
